Moondrop unveils Dark Saber hybrid headphones with ten drivers
The new Moondrop Dark Saber in-ear headphones are built on two types of emitters – dynamic and reinforcement.
Each headphone has two dynamic drivers and eight reinforcement emitters that sound different parts of the frequency range. The dynamic drivers are located oppositely and connected in parallel; this module received the brand name HODDUS and is designed to reproduce low frequencies. The midrange is entrusted to four custom armature drivers, and four emitters from Knowles are responsible for the high-frequency range .
The headphone housings are made of synthetic resin, and the outer panels are made of multi-layer carbon fiber. According to the manufacturer, the headphones have a linear phase-frequency response, while the frequency response is tuned as close as possible to the VDSF curve. The model is equipped with a detachable cable with cores made of pure and silver-plated copper, and the modular connector allows the installation of different mini-jacks. The sensitivity of the headphones is 128 dB , the nominal impedance is 22 Ohms , so they can easily be sung with any signal source.
