Sigma and Tamron are preparing to release new advanced optics. This was reported by two different sources familiar with the manufacturers’ plans. Details are still scarce, but some information about what kind of lenses these will be already exists. With a high degree of probability, these will be lenses for Sony cameras, but support for other bayonet mounts is not excluded.
Tamron has been making a lot of quality lenses in recent years, mostly for Sony E-mount cameras. The new optics will be a ” large zoom lens ,” the source says. Presumably, this could be the Tamron 180-600mm F/5.6-6.3 lens.
The reasons for this assumption are simple: if you examine the patent for this optics, it becomes clear that it was developed by Nikon and Tamron. At the same time, Nikon has already released this optics, while Tamron has not. Thus, the source concludes, there is a high probability that the company will release the Tamron 180-600mm F/5.6-6.3 lens (it may also be available for other bayonet mounts).

The lens is equipped with an optical image stabilization system (effectiveness of 5.5 exposure steps) and weighs 1995 grams. Nikon also claims that the optics provide quiet and accurate autofocus even with new advanced cameras.
The optical design of the lens consists of 25 elements in 17 groups (including 6 ED elements, 1 aspherical element and a front lens with a fluorine coating).
However, at the time of publication of the news there was no exact confirmation that Tamron will release this particular lens. Below is a full list of the company’s patented optics:

Sigma is also preparing to release a new lens, the source said. Moreover, according to him, it will be a ” large zoom lens .” A similar definition was given to the future new product from Tamron. Several details are known.
First, Sigma’s new lens will be designed for full-frame cameras. The source calls the optics ” intriguing . ”
Secondly, it will not be a niche lens (the source cites the recently announced Sigma 28-45mm F/1.8 DG DN Art as a niche lens). The new lens from Sigma will be designed for a wider segment. And it will be affordable. However, its technical characteristics and specifications have not been disclosed yet.
