The Chinese company Hisense has introduced a new series of laser projectors C2 , which includes three models: C2, C2 Pro and C2 Ultra . These are direct projection devices that will replace the popular C1 line in the company’s product range. According to the manufacturer, the distinctive feature of the new products is the ability to create truly huge images with a diagonal of up to 300 inches despite their modest size.

Hisense C2 Series Projectors

Hisense C2 is the youngest, but the freshest model of the line. At the same time, it is equipped with a three-component laser light source, like the top-end C2 Ultra projector, which provides a light flux of 2,000 ANSI lumens with a contrast ratio of 1,700: 1. The projector supports video with an extended dynamic range in the HDR10, HDR10+, HLG and even Dolby Vision formats (which is a rarity for projection equipment). Like other projectors in the C2 series, it is equipped with a micromirror chip with a diagonal of 0.47 inches. 4K resolution is achieved using pixel shift (Pixel Shift system).

The lens of the younger Hisense C2 model lacks the ability to zoom in on the image, so it has a fixed projection ratio of 1.2:1. At the same time, the optical system is equipped with motorized focus adjustment and automatic trapezoid correction to obtain images with the correct proportions. The frame refresh rate at 4K resolution is 60 Hz, but for games it can be doubled to 120 Hz, reducing the resolution to Full HD.

The Hisense C2 projector’s connectivity includes two HDMI ports, one of which supports ALLM for connecting game consoles. There are also two USB 3.0 ports, an Ethernet RJ45 port, and a headphone jack. There is also a built-in JBL audio system with a total power of 20 W. The projector is equipped with an MT9618 processor from Mediatek and runs on the proprietary VIDAA U7.6 operating system, providing full Smart TV functionality.

All three models in the series feature a built-in 360-degree rotating base, as well as the aforementioned VIDAA U7.6 operating system, 3D content support, and a JBL audio system. Unlike the older models in the line, whose body is made of metal, the Hisense C2 projector is clad in a plastic body. The Hisense C2 projector will go on sale in Europe soon at a recommended retail price of €1,999 .

The Hisense C2 Pro is the mid-range projector in the C2 series. It produces an impressive 2,600 ANSI lumens of brightness with a native 2,000:1 contrast ratio. It also offers full BT.2020 color space coverage (110%) and supports IMAX Enhanced. All of this justifies the higher price tag, but the Hisense C2 Pro also features a sleek metal body and optical zoom, making it easy to install.

Otherwise, the Hisense C2 Pro replicates all the capabilities of the younger model in the line. Unlike the C2 Ultra projector, it does not have the Designed for XBOX certificate. Otherwise, it has the same processor, 4K/60Hz compatibility, the ability to create an image with a diagonal of up to 300 inches and a projection ratio of 0.9 – 1.5. The Hisense C2 Pro projector is already on sale in Europe at a recommended retail price of 2,199 euros.

The flagship of the new series is the Hisense C2 Ultra , a 4K TriChroma laser projector with 3,000 ANSI lumens of brightness. Not only does it offer all the features of the C2 Pro, but the manufacturer claims that it delivers image quality that is currently hard to beat for the money. That is, it is 400 lumens brighter than the C2 Pro, which is ideal for viewing HDR content.

Another advantage of the flagship model is the JBL 2.1 audio system. That is, compared to the younger models of the series, a subwoofer has been added here, thanks to which the Hisense C2 Ultra provides sound quality rarely found in projectors of this class. And, of course, it has everything that was mentioned above, including the VIDAA U7.6 operating system, Filmmaker mode, MEMC technology and much more.

The Hisense C2 Ultra 4K laser projector is now available in Europe with a recommended retail price of €2,499 .
